\r\n BAND HISTORY<\/u>\r\n <\/p>\r\n

Hungerford has had a community band for over 130 years performing at important local events. The earliest remembered event was playing at Hungerford Railway Station welcoming the troops back from the Second World War.<\/p>\r\n

The record shows that the involvement of local youngsters in the band has been significant for many years. In 1977, the Hungerford Youth band was selected to lead a parade at Windsor Great Park in celebration of the Silver Jubilee\r\n of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second. The importance of youth involvement in the band remains a constant and forms a fundamental aspect of its constitution.<\/p>\r\n

During the tenure of the current Musical Director, Tim Crouter, the band had released two CD recordings and has qualified for the National Finals 5 times, the most recent of which was 2023.<\/p>\r\n

The band is in great demand and has a reputation for presenting excellent concerts.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n TRAINING BAND<\/u>\r\n <\/p>\r\n

Our Training Band meet in our band room on a Tuesday evening during term-time at 6.30pm until 7.20pm. We have the facility to teach complete beginners and help people resume playing after a break. A good selection of instruments are\r\n available.<\/p>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n
